Online Banking Enrollment
To enroll online, you will need your Member Number and Audio Response PIN. If you do not have an Audio Response PIN, please contact us at (808) 873-5050. After you enter your Member Number and Audio Response PIN, you will be required to acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

The next step is to select a Logon ID. The Logon ID must be between 6 and 50 characters. It may include letters, numbers and special characters: _-.!@$*()=+{}[]|. The Logon ID cannot be the member number, Social Security Number, or email address.

Select a Security Code which must be between 8 - 16 characters and must contain at least 2 alphabetic and 2 numeric characters. In addition, it may contain special characters: _-.!@$*()=+{}[]|. The security code is case sensitive. You will then be asked to verify your Security Code.

Enter your email address then click the Enroll button. You will be directed to the logon screen where you will enter your Logon ID and click the Logon button followed by your Security Code and click the OK button.

The first time you logon, you will be guided through the Enhanced Authentication process which provides extra protection for your online data and helps guard against phishing scams and identity theft by recognizing your computer and usage patterns. If a questionable logon attempt is detected, the system will require additional identity verification before allowing access.

You will also need to choose a Security Phrase. This phrase is displayed each time you log on to verify the authenticity of the site and reassures you that you are logging on to Maui Federal Credit Union’s actual Online Banking site. If you do not see your Security Phrase, you should not enter your Security Code. Do not use sensitive information such as account number, Security Code, or social security number in your phrase.


Online Banking Alerts
Stay informed of your finances by setting up electronic alerts for your accounts. They get delivered directly to your email. Or, if you're a Mobile Banking user, you can have them sent to your email and to your registered device through SMS text. There are many different user-defined alerts you can sign up for.

How to Set Up Alerts:
To set up alerts on your accounts, you must first be enrolled in Online Banking. Once logged in, select the Self Service tab and sign up for the alerts of your choice.

  • Account Alerts - Notifies you if a deposit, ATM or debit card transaction, withdrawal or check has exceeded a certain amount. You will also be notified if your account goes above or below a certain balance, if a direct deposit has posted or if a loan payment is due.
  • Transfer Alert - Notifies you if a scheduled transfer is unable to process or a final in a series of recurring transfers have completed.
  • General Alert - Notifies you of email address changes, logon ID changes and security code changes. Also notifies you when Member Service sends you a message.
  • Alert History - Lets you view a historical list of all alerts sent from Online Banking.
  • Schedule Reminder - Allows you to schedule personal reminders for alerts to be sent on specific dates and frequency.

Mobile Banking Enrollment
Members must be enrolled in Online Banking to access Mobile Banking. Sign in to Online Banking, click on the Self Service tab, click on Mobile Money and then click the Sign Up button to enroll. You must accept the Terms and Conditions for Mobile Banking. Choose from a variety of mobile banking services. You can get basic account balance and transaction information, or receive full mobile banking capabilities that allow you to view account details, transfer money, and more.

Online Lending

At Maui Federal Credit Union we provide convenient ways to submit a loan application. Whether you are looking for that perfect car, need a little cash for a much needed vacation or for the holidays or you like low rates or rewards on your credit card, we are here to help.

Audio Response

Audio Response is our FREE 24-hour telephone teller service. You can access your accounts by simply calling 1-800-399-4790 from any touch-tone phone. Audio Response could eliminate unnecessary trips to a branch and provide you more control of your account, allowing you up-to-the-minute information on all account activities.


  • Convenience – Audio Response is virtually available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Security – Audio Response requires your full account number and personal identification number (PIN) which only you know so only you can access your account. As an additional layer of security, you will be prompted to provide the last four digits of the primary member’s social security number. This will enable us to validate and authenticate your identity to prevent unauthorized use.
  • Ease of Use – Audio Response is very simple to use. Just tell the system what you want to do from your touch-tone phone by pressing the corresponding number on your phone when prompted by the recording.

With Audio Response, you can:

  • Check account balances
  • Check account activity
  • Transfer funds between your accounts
  • Make loan payments by transferring funds from your share or share draft account
  • Take an advance from your line of credit

We offer convenience with ATM and debit cards. You can use your Maui Federal Credit Union ATM debit card at any American Savings Bank or Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union ATMs surcharge free located across the state and in Las Vegas, Nevada.

ATM/Debit Card FAQs

  • What is the difference between an ATM card and a debit card? ATM cards are PIN based transactions and are used primarily for ATM transactions (withdrawals, balance inquiries and account transfers)

    Debit cards offer ATM transaction capability and you can make purchases online, at stores or over the phone at merchants that accept Visa® cards. When processing a debit card purchase, you may either use your PIN or signature. One advantage of choosing credit and signing when making debit card purchases is that the card networks may offer you protections, such as zero liability for fraudulent purchases. This protection could help you when you are trying to get reimbursed for an unauthorized charge. Either way, with a swipe of your Maui Federal Credit Union VISA debit card, you have access to all the funds in your checking account at any merchant that accepts Visa® without the hassle of cash.

  • What is the difference between using my debit card as debit or credit? Debit cards can be used two different ways: debit or credit. Using the card as a debit means you are entering your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to complete the transaction. Using the card as credit means you do not enter your PIN. Most times when running it as a credit you are asked to sign for the transaction, but not always. Both types of transactions clear through your checking account.

  • Do debit (entering a PIN) card transactions clear my account right away? A debit transaction in which you have entered your PIN will typically clear the account once the transaction is complete. A card transaction that is run through as a credit (you did not enter your PIN) may take from a few hours to several days or more to post to your account. The amount authorized is placed on hold and removed from your available balance immediately. The hold is released after approximately 72 hours or when the transaction clears, whichever comes first.

  • Why is there a difference in my account balance and my available balance? You may notice a difference in your account balance and your available balance. The most common reason for this difference is outstanding purchase (when you did not enter a PIN) authorizations due to using the card for credit purchases. Though these transactions may not yet be visible on your account history they have been authorized and have therefore decreased your account balance to reflect your available balance.

  • Why did my account get charged an overdraft fee when my balance wasn’t negative? The account history reflects the account balance, not the available balance. Fees are charged when there are not available funds in the account. If there are not adequate available funds to pay a transaction, overdraft fees or overdraft transfers will occur. Transactions that are authorized and then cancelled by the merchant may continue to hold against the available balance for up to 5 days. If you used your debit card to reserve a hotel room or rental car, additional authorizations may be requested by the merchant and hold against the available balance for up to 5 days.

  • Will a hold release prior to the purchase clearing the account? If the transaction has not posted to the account within 5 days, the system will automatically remove the hold. Even though the funds are not being held, a charge may still post to the account. To avoid possible overdrafts it is vital to keep a running register that reflects all purchases/debits and review your register against what has cleared to see if there are any pending transactions.

  • Can I set up overdraft protection to help avoid fees? It is always a good idea to have overdraft protection set up on your account. This can help you avoid overdraft fees. Overdraft protection is offered in various forms:
    • Savings accounts can be set up to cover your checking if the need arises.
    • Upon approved credit, a personal line of credit can be attached to your checking account to protect against overdrafts.

  • How do I order a new ATM or debit card? You may order a new ATM or Visa® debit card by visiting our Kahului or Hana branch. It may take up to 3 weeks for your ATM or debit card to arrive.

  • What are the qualifications for an ATM or debit card?
    • ATM card – you must have a savings account
    • Debit card – you must
      • have a checking account and
      • pass Telecheck, a consumer reporting agency which focuses primarily on your check writing history.

  • Are there fees for using ATM machines? Maui Federal Credit Union members have surcharge free access to all American Savings Bank or Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union ATMs. Please note that eight (8) ATM transaction fees are waived per month and after the 8th transaction, there is a $1 fee per transaction. ATM transactions are defined as withdrawals, transfers or balance inquiries.

  • PIN change for ATM or debit card Members may change their PIN on their ATM card by visiting our Kahului branch. For debit card PIN changes, members may call 1-800-757-9848.

  • Are there any ATM or debit card usage restrictions? ATM cash withdrawals are limited to 5 per day, not to exceed $500. Although we have this limit, ATM machine owners may set a lower amount if they choose. For ATM machines with a lower limit, you may be able to split your withdrawals into multiple transactions, i.e. one for $300 and another for $200. Just a helpful tip in arranging your cash withdrawal needs.

    Daily debit card spending limits:
    • Maximum point-of-sale purchase amount is $2,000
    • Maximum internet purchase amount is $1,000
  • The spending limits above are meant to protect you in case your card is lost, stolen or compromised. Your debit card will be declined if you exceed these amounts even if you have a balance in your account greater than these limits.

  • Please contact us if you anticipate making a purchase in excess of these limits prior to making your purchase. This will allow us time to evaluate your request and make the appropriate accommodations.

  • Important Travel Notice for Debit Cards: In an effort to protect your account from fraudulent transactions, we have blocked all debit card transactions that originate or occur in countries other than the United States. Prior to traveling outside of your normal area of card use, be it domestic or foreign, please notify us of your travel dates and destinations, including stopovers if you’ll have connecting flights, along with travel contact information so we can reduce the chances that your legitimate transactions will not be blocked and help us to contact you faster if fraud is suspected.

  • How much does it cost to replace a lost ATM or debit card?
    • $5 deactivation fee per card
    • $10 replacement fee per card
    • $50 expedited fee per card

  • What to do if my ATM or debit card is lost, stolen or compromised? For a lost, stolen or compromised ATM card, please call us immediately at (808) 873-5050 during normal business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm to speak to a member service representative. A mobile card management application that helps protect your debit card. With CardValet, members can control their debit card usage and spending on the go. CardValet lets you:

  • Turn your debit card on and off
  • Establish transaction controls for dollar amount limits, merchant categories and geographic locations
  • Receive alerts when your debit card is used, approved or exceeds the transaction controls set by you
  • Stay informed of potential fraud with alerts on attempted, declined transactions
  • Get real-time balances for your accounts

CardValet is available for download at the Apple app store and the Google Play store. At this time, it is not designed for use on tablets. CardValet only supports debit cards – not ATM cards.

CardValet Registration
To use CardValet, you must first register at least one card. The information required for registration is:

  1. Debit Card Number
  2. Security Code (CVV2 – 3 digit code on the back of the card)
  3. Debit Card Expiration Date
  4. Billing Address

The information entered from items 1 – 4 above will be validated against the cardholder record on file.

As an additional security measure, the app will prompt for a send authentication factor. Upon successful validation, you will be taken to the registration screen where you will select a Username and Password.

CardValet Password Requirements
CardValet passwords must be at least 8 characters in length and must contain at least 1 upper case character, 1 lower case character, 1 number, and 1 special character.

Direct Deposit

Get your money safely and conveniently with direct deposit. Direct deposit reduces the risk of ID theft and mail fraud. Funds go directly into your account, so it’s easy to access your funds right away. Direct deposit is free and offers you greater security in managing your money.

To Set Up Direct Deposit:
Please contact your payroll department to set up direct deposit. Here’s the information you may need to provide:

  • Maui Federal Credit Union’s Routing Number: 321379724
  • Your Member Number (Account Number)
  • Account Type (Savings or Checking)
  • Direct Deposit (your entire paycheck) or Payroll Deduction (a portion of your paycheck)


View your account statement anytime, anywhere with eStatements. This environmentally-friendly option is also a more secure alternative than receiving your statements by mail. View your periodic statement securely once you log in to online banking by going to the Self Service tab then under Additional Services, clicking on eStatements. eStatement can be saved or printed at home as needed.

How to Enroll
You must be enrolled in Online Banking to access eStatements. Not enrolled in Online Banking? Click here to REGISTER NOW

Once logged in to Online Banking, select the Self Service tab and under Additional Services, click on eStatements. Select the account or accounts you want to receive eStatements and click OK. You will then be taken to our usage agreement. If you accept the terms of the agreement, click Accept. You will be notified through email when your statement is available for viewing. To ensure receipt of your email notification, make sure you keep your email address current within eStatements as well as in Online Banking. Your email address can be easily updated in the “Profile” section of eStatements or under Personal Information in Online Banking.

Safe and Convenient – wire transfers enable you to send money electronically to other financial institution accounts in the United States and to receive money both domestically and internationally.

Member’s Name and Member Number

Members wiring money into Maui Federal Credit Union from a foreign bank may be asked to provide our SWIFT bank code or an IBAN for all other countries, because foreign banks are accustomed to using them. We do not have one and it is not necessary in order to wire money to us.

Sending Domestic Wires – How to Request a Wire Transfer
To wire money from your Maui Federal Credit Union accounts to anywhere in the United States, you must visit the main branch in Kahului and complete the Wire Transfer Request form and the Wire Transfer Member Questionnaire. At this time, we do not process international outgoing transfers via the Credit Union. However, Western Union wire transfer services are available if you would like to send money internationally.

In order to process your request, you will be asked to provide us with the following information:

  • Name of the Beneficiary
  • Address of the Beneficiary
  • Account Number of the Beneficiary
  • Receiving Financial Institution's Name
  • Receiving Financial Institution's Address
  • Receiving Financial Institution's Phone Number
  • Receiving Financial Institution’s ABA Routing Number
  • Any special instructions
  • Wire Amount

Western Union Money Transfers

If you would like to send money to friends and family around the world instantly, our Western Union services can help you do so. Western Union is a convenient way to transfer money quickly, easily and securely. As a Western Union agent, members may send payments to over 500,000 Western Union Agent locations in more than 200 countries and territories. To send money please visit our Kahului branch.

Maui Real Property Tax Payments Program

Members of Maui Federal Credit Union can now pay their property tax bills at the credit union, and even set up automatic payments. The agreement with the county enables members who own homes to establish a special account at the credit union, which would be dedicated to making semi-annual real property tax payments when due. The credit union will withdraw the funds at a designated time and make remittance to the Maui County Finance Department on your behalf.

How does it Work?

  • Members must be owner of property in the County of Maui
  • All available funds in the account will be remitted during the months of February and August by the Maui Federal Credit Union for payment regardless if funds are short or over
  • Maui County Real Property Tax Payments are due on February 20th and August 20th each year
    • February payment disbursement date will be between January 31 and February 15. All available funds should be in account no later than January 31 to ensure timely payments
    • August payment disbursement date will be between July 31 and August 15. All available funds should be in account no later than July 31 to ensure timely payments
  • Member is responsible to verify proper payment was made by contacting County of Maui Department of Finance Treasury Division (808-270-7697)
  • Members will not receive any courtesy calls should the funds be short or over

To enroll, simply stop by our Kahului or Hana branch. It is highly recommended that you provide us with a copy of your Real Property Tax bill to avoid any errors.


In the spirit of our commitment to furthering the education and investing in the members of our community, we are proud to offer the Maui Federal Credit Union Higher Education Scholarship. Each year Maui Federal Credit Union awards at least 3 – $1,000 scholarships to eligible members in their pursuit of a higher education.

Eligibility Requirements
To apply, an applicant must be:

  1. A Maui Federal Credit Union member in good standing for at least a year prior to the deadline for submitting the scholarship application and must continue to be a member at the time the scholarship is awarded.
  2. Enrolled in an associate, baccalaureate or graduate degree program at an accredited college, university or technical school.
  3. Attendance must be on a full-time basis during the award year.

Full-time status is defined by the specific college or university. For example, the University of Hawaii requires a minimum of 12 credits per semester for full-time status in undergraduate programs.

Note: To provide opportunities for all members, the Maui Federal Credit Union Higher Education Scholarship is restricted to one award per member per lifetime.

Important Information

  1. Applications must be complete and all documents received no later than June 1st. Incomplete applications will not be considered. No exceptions.
  2. Selection will be made by random drawing.
  3. Finalists will be notified no later than July 15th.
  4. Acceptance of the Maui Federal Credit Union Higher Education Scholarship constitutes permission to use recipient’s name and photo for purposes of advertising and promotion by the credit union and its agencies.
